Description of Legislative Redistricting
With every 10-year federal census each state legislature can realign their legislative districts to reflect population changes. North Carolina gained a 14th seat in the US House of Representatives. After months of Democratic party lawfare and legal wrangling up to the US Supreme Court we have new state and federal legislative district maps.
State Legislative Districts: Transylvania County is now in new North Carolina legislative districts.

Federal Legislative Districts: The redistricting plan created a new 14th U.S. House district. Transylvania County remains in the 11th US House of Representatives district but there are now fewer counties that make up the district.
